South Bay Release Route
South Bay Correctional Facility houses offenders in the Florida correctional system. A contractor operates the institution, but that arrangement does not shift the state record to PBSO. The state remains the controlling corrections system. Palm Beach County court records may explain the original judgment and sentence, yet they do not replace FDC's custody calculation or actual discharge entry.
A person may leave South Bay because FDC moved them to another prison, placed them in a community-release setting, discharged the prison term, or began a lawful term of community supervision. Those events have different meanings. Transfer and community-release-center placement remain state custody. An actual exit is shown in the FDC Inmate Release record. If probation, parole, conditional release, community control, or another state term follows, the Supervised Population record shows that continuing legal status.

Search South Bay Release Records
The FDC Corrections Offender Network separates current prison, release, supervision, and absconder records. That design helps prevent a current facility change from being confused with a discharge. Search by exact DC number when possible. A name search can include aliases, and photo controls can help narrow the list. Confirm the match with the DC number, date of birth, identity descriptors, photograph, aliases, county, case number, and sentence history.
Follow the record in the order that fits the event.
- Open Inmate Population for someone believed to remain in prison. Read the current facility, custody, and Current Release Date.
- If South Bay no longer appears, check whether another FDC institution is listed. A new institution means transfer, not release.
- Open Inmate Release Information Search for a person believed to have left confinement. Match the same DC number.
- Read Release Date with the incarceration history and Date Out-Custody information. A future date is scheduled, not proof that exit occurred.
- Check Supervised Population for a state term that begins after confinement. Contact FDC if the public records conflict or omit a needed detail.

South Bay Release Fields
For a person still in prison, FDC uses the exact public label Current Release Date. It does not call the field a guaranteed date. FDC warns that it can change after gain-time awards, gain-time forfeiture, or review. “TO BE SET” means the date remains under review. The population database receives a full weekly refresh, while location changes and release dates update nightly.
The release database is also updated nightly and includes people already released or scheduled for release. Its detail can show Release Date, custody, aliases, detainers, incarceration periods, and sentence history. A future Release Date does not mean the person has left. A past date paired with the end of the relevant incarceration period is stronger evidence. The supervision search then answers whether a community term continues.

It directs classification and Central Records questions to 850-488-9859 or central.classification@fdc.myflorida.com. Give the DC number and specify the actual Release Date, Date Out-Custody, institution, release mechanism if public, detainer information, or supervision dates needed. The public search should be checked first because it may answer the question without a formal request.

South Bay County Case Trail
A Palm Beach County court file can explain why a person entered state custody. The Clerk's eCaseView may show the case status, charges, plea and disposition, sentence, court events, docket records, bonds, warrants, and commitment papers. That material can connect a PBSO booking to a state sentence. It does not calculate the final FDC release date.
The transition can produce a short gap. PBSO may record a transfer after the person physically leaves the county jail, while the state population search has not yet completed intake and data entry. During that period, reconcile the PBSO movement entry with the Palm Beach judgment and commitment. Once FDC posts the person, the DC-number record becomes the correct custody source.
South Bay's location can also lead to a mistaken county search. The county word describes geography, not the record custodian. PBSO's Booking Blotter may preserve an earlier Palm Beach booking within its rolling booking window, but it cannot confirm a discharge from South Bay. Likewise, a court docket can show the sentence without showing the latest gain-time calculation. Keep each source within its own role.

South Bay Supervised Release
Release from a prison building does not always end state control. FDC's Supervised Population search covers probation, parole, community control, conditional release, and other FDC-managed supervision types. A result may provide the supervision type, start and scheduled termination information, and supervising office. This record should be matched by DC number rather than by name alone.
Parole is not the same as every prison release. Florida's parole authority is the Florida Commission on Offender Review, and ordinary parole eligibility is limited mainly by older offense dates and specific statutes. Conditional release and probation have their own bases. Do not infer the supervision type from the fact that a person left South Bay. Read the state record and the applicable order.
If the release database shows a past exit but no supervision result, that absence should not be enlarged into a claim about every court condition or local case. Some matters fall outside FDC's database scope. A Palm Beach court file may still show an order. When the state entry is disputed, the Bureau of Admission and Release or Central Records can address the correction using the person's DC number.
